After successfully passing the pilot phase, the catkin portal will be taken into managed operation on Saturday, April the 26th 2014 at midnight. The platform will be placed in a highly available and powerful hardware environment and from then it’s available  to all customers and interested parties. All kinds of business services can be communicated and tracked across companies and mobile staff in a structured way. Already in operational use – with over 20 participating transport companies – is the communication of trucking orders preceding and following a rail transport at container terminals. In May, first railway  companies plan to start communicating mobile staff services to external service providers as well as their own mobile staff. Engine drivers, shunters and examiners will report back via catkin SmartApp.
